CCS have long experience of taking
advantage of the uninterrupted space and headroom available
within warehouse premises, for conversion into accommodation
for: Data Centres, Computer
Rooms, Disaster
Recovery, Call Centres,
Server/Telecoms, Offices,
Hi-tech Factory Space
and the like.
Whilst computer space and some manufacturing
accommodation benefits from the additional headroom
available, two storey offices may be provided by inserting
mezzanine floors – to complement the minimal
office accommodation usually included within the warehousing.
Recent increases in computer/server/telecoms
room heat packing densities are leading us to consider
taller rooms. This will enable us to allow the heat
to accumulate at high level, above the equipment zone,
leaving it at its required working temperature, and
leave us time to remove the hot air without having
to introduce high air exchange rates.
The headrooms we require are not provided for in normal
office development. It would be unwise to incorporate
it in a new build – because of the specialist
limitations in the event of the facility closing or
being moved elsewhere. Which leaves us with warehouses
and the like.
We are aware of the pitfalls that can arise by selecting
the wrong type of construction for the premises or
location of certain facilities within. There may also
be restrictions regarding the siting of external plant
associated with certain facility service – see
Pitfalls.
An investigation into relevant Authority
requirements or restrictions are necessary before
proceeding with any design work.

are intending to modify, to learn what services may
be involved, how we can help, how we might go about
it and how much it will cost. |
